You Need More Ginger in Your Diet: Here Are 5 Delicious Ways to Enjoy This Spice

Ginger is one of the most loved spices, thanks to its powerfully delicious flavor and jam-packed nutritional value. From brewing a mug of ginger tea to relying on ginger as a natural remedy for dozens of ailments, it’s long been known as one of the most buzzed-about spices.

But, not all ginger benefits are as well-known as others. We’re diving deeper into three reasons to consider adding more to your diet.

3 Benefits of Ginger You May Not Have Known About

#1 Ginger Contains Potent Antioxidant & Anti-inflammatory Properties

Turmeric is often deemed the most potent anti-inflammatory spice, but ginger comes with some pretty impressive benefits of its own. Gingerol, the bioactive compound in ginger, has been found to contain potent antioxidants as well as anti-inflammatory properties, making ginger an excellent addition to an anti-inflammatory diet.

#2 This Powerful Spice May Ease Muscle Aches and Pains

This makes sense due to its anti-inflammatory properties, and some research suggests that it may help reduce muscle pain that’s linked to exercise. To help support those tired muscles, consider adding some ginger to your post-workout shake. You can use freshly grated ginger, or add a serving of Golden Superfood Bliss.

#3 Ginger May Help Support a Robust Immune System

Supporting immune health is important all year round, and ginger may make a great addition to a healthy and balanced diet for keeping us healthy. A study found that fresh ginger was shown to have antiviral activity against certain types of respiratory infections.

If you do happen to come down with a cold or flu, consider sipping on a mug of ginger tea with raw honey.
