Uncovering the 3 Cinnamon Bark Benefits You Need to Know About

Uncovering the 3 Cinnamon Bark Benefits You Need to Know About

Cinnamon is one of the most loved and widely used spices out there. It’s also commonly used in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine for its digestive-supporting health benefits.

Cinnamon is also an easy spice to add to your diet. From adding it to your favorite muffin recipe to whisking it into your morning cup of coffee, cinnamon can help transform the flavor of many recipes.

It also happens to come with a number of health benefits and makes a great addition to a healthy and balanced diet.

So, if you’re a big cinnamon fan, read on as we’re sharing all the superpowers cinnamon bark brings to the table and how you can enjoy it on the regular.

What is Cinnamon Bark?

While we’re all familiar with ground cinnamon (the kind you can pick up at your local grocery store), the bark is what’s commonly used to make medicine (such as in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine), and it’s also widely used for gastrointestinal upset.

Cinnamon bark is also commonly enjoyed in powder form to make it easy to enjoy. We happen to use cinnamon bark powder in our Cacao Bliss, making it an easy and delicious way to reap all the benefits cinnamon bark has to offer.

The Top 3 Cinnamon Bark Superpowers You Need to Know About

#1 Cinnamon For Digestive Health Support

As mentioned, cinnamon has been used in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine for centuries. These traditional medicine approaches have relied on cinnamon to provide heartburn and indigestion relief and for overall  digestive distress.

#2 May Support Balanced Blood Sugar

Cinnamon has been found to help  increase insulin sensitivity, making it easier for insulin to move blood sugar from your blood and into your cells.

By improving insulin sensitivity, cinnamon may naturally help balance blood sugar.

#3 Cinnamon Makes a Great Addition to an Anti-inflammatory Diet

Reducing our overall inflammatory load is an essential part of supporting health and wellness. In fact, inflammation has been  linked to nearly all chronic disease seen today. The good news is that consuming an anti-inflammatory diet is an excellent way to ward off inflammation and thus reduce your risk of disease.

To supercharge your anti-inflammatory diet, adding some cinnamon may be more beneficial than you think, as it’s known for having some pretty impressive  anti-inflammatory properties. Cinnamon is also rich in antioxidants to help keep free radicals at bay.

So, go ahead and enjoy cinnamon regularly, it may just keep inflammation at bay, an essential part of keeping your health in tip-top shape.

How to Enjoy Cinnamon Bark

Our favorite way to enjoy cinnamon bark is in our  Cacao Bliss superfood powder. Not only are you getting all the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant health benefits the cacao powder offers, but pairing this with organic cinnamon bark powder adds a one-two punch in the anti-inflammatory department.

Plus, we think that there’s truly no more delicious duo than cinnamon and chocolate.

Looking for other ways to enjoy cinnamon in your day? You can also sprinkle regular ground cinnamon into your morning cup of coffee, mix it into a bowl of oatmeal, or even try blending it into a smoothie.

With all the health benefits cinnamon has to offer, go on and get your cinnamon fix on. Your health and tastebuds will thank you for it.

First that I have heard of Cinnamon Bark but will certainly check it out. I do drop a t. of cinnamon in my coffee when brewing. Raised my 2 boys on Rizagalo a Greek Rice Pudding covered with Cinnamon, just super good. Those 2 obys are not 42 and 45.
