Healthy Snack Alert: Dessert Decadence in the Palm of Your Hand

Healthy Snack Alert: Dessert Decadence in the Palm of Your Hand

If you think you have to kiss your chocolate obsession goodbye in order to live a healthy lifestyle, I’m here with some great news for you: You don’t!

Believe me, I know what it’s like to crave chocolate and that’s why I’m on a never-ending search for great chocolate recipes that are healthy and not full of processed ingredients or white sugars.

These Rich Cacao Bites are one of my family’s favorites and they keep me going when those crushing cravings hit. Since a serving size is 2 balls, it feels like you’re having a “big” treat, not just sneaking a nibble of something outside of your healthy-eating plan. They’re also portable and poppable, so you can take them with you when you’re on the go.

All this and they’re loaded with fiber, disease-fighting antioxidants, and even inflammation-busting ingredients! And they taste amazing!

Give this healthy chocolate snack a try and drop me a comment to let me know what you think. Enjoy!

 Rich Cacao Bites Recipe

Serving size: 2 balls | Yields: 9 balls

INGREDIENTS:

  • ¼ cup dates
  • ½ cup raw oats
  • ¼ cup raisins
  • ¼ cup mixed nuts (unsalted)
  • 2 scoops Cacao Bliss
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder (optional)
  • ½ cup unsweetened shredded coconut

     DIRECTIONS:

    1. Mix all ingredients in a blender. While blending, add some water if needed for a sticky consistency.
    2. Take out small heaps with a tablespoon. Roll balls with your hands then roll in raw unsweetened coconut.
    3. Store in the fridge for at least one hour in an open container so excess moisture can escape. These can also be frozen!

These are delicious and really not hard to make. They really satisfy your craving for chocolate in one or two balls. I will make them again without the coconut it really doesn’t need it,

Thanks for the recipe keep them coming…
