Giving Back With Earth Echo: An Update On Our Eden Reforestation Projects Partnership

It’s the season of giving and, with that in mind, we wanted to show you how each and every one of your Earth Echo purchases has helped give back to Mother Earth this year through our partnership with Eden Reforestation Projects.

We partnered with Eden Reforestation Projects earlier this year to help combat deforestation by replenishing native species forests through their unique Employ to Plant program — providing steady employment to local communities, alleviating extreme poverty, and creating stewards of reforestation in the process.

These reforestation efforts have been focused on the Casa Partida site near the city of Beira, Mozambique. This site was once a bustling habitat for mangrove stands and has historically been a vital estuary that provides food and resources to the local community.

Unfortunately, due to resource poverty, these mangrove forests have been greatly depleted as locals have used mangroves to produce charcoal as a means of income. However, charcoal production depletes forest stocks much faster than they can be replenished naturally, making it nearly impossible for these mangrove forests to recover on their own.

This is where you come in. Each and every Earth Echo purchase you make plants a tree in Mozambique through the Eden Reforestation Projects. And thanks to this, you can already see significant progress toward restoring the mangrove forests in Casa Partida.

Since March, the Eden Mozambique team has planted 506,284 trees. In addition, this project has created an average of 210 working days each month for local community members, providing dignified employment and empowering communities to become agents of environmental restoration.

Every echo has to start somewhere. And by purchasing superfood blends that nourish your body, you’re directly helping to create an echo that spreads more good throughout the world. So, thank you for being a part of our mission to protect and preserve Mother Earth.
