Don’t be intimidated by the long ingredient list. It consists mostly of spices and sauces that are common pantry staples. And the actual cooking is as easy as throwing it all in a pan and heating until it thickens up. Super easy and super worth it.
Give this recipe a try and see how adding the delicious superfood power of Cacao Bliss will elevate your entire grilling experience this summer!
Add the ketchup, coconut sugar, molasses, cider vinegar, Cacao Bliss, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, mustard, onion powder, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper to a medium saucepan. Whisk to combine.
Transfer the contents to a saucepan over medium high heat and let it cook for 5 minutes. Once it starts bubbling, add the butter and reduce the heat to medium low. Continue to cook for 10 minutes until it becomes slightly thick.
Remove the sauce from heat and use it right away with chicken or store in an airtight container for later use.
We made this sauce last night for our BBQ chicken tomorrow (figured the sauce might benefit from melding for a couple of days). We used a 50% less sugar ketchup and a half teaspoon of the cayenne pepper because my stomach can’t handle a lot of cayenne. We tasted the sauce right away, and it is FANTASTIC! We let the sauce cool down and tasted it again, and it is FABULOUS! The best BBQ sauce we have EVER tasted. That chicken is going to be amazing! Thank you, Danette, for giving me BBQ back – yay!
